ABSTRACT
This paper present the first mineralogical study of far infrared reflexion spectrometry. In this domain, spectra are particularly typical for compounds with a relatively weak strenght of the interatomic bond (sulphides, oxides of the low valence elements, halogenides, carbonates, sulphates, nitrates). At the same time, chemical compounds with a relatively high bondings (silicates) present also characteristic profiles. This non-destructive method, together with Raman spectrometry, will be capable of solving some of the present problems in mineralogy as well as in cosmic geology, volcanology, planetology and astronomy.
